Carpet Edition’s Bamboo Design and Bamboo Shaded collections explore how memory, movement, and material come together through surface and texture. Designed by Emanuela Garbin and Michela Boglietti, the rugs draw from landscapes encountered through travel and everyday journeys, translating fleeting impressions into tactile, long-lasting objects. From sunlit wheat fields and scorched earth to dense vegetation and quiet snowy terrains, each rug carries a visual memory shaped through colour, contrast, and subtle patterning.
Both collections are crafted using bamboo and cotton, woven on looms through a production process that prioritises durability and material quality. The woven base is then refined by hand, with artisans carving into the surface to create depth and a gentle three-dimensional effect. These precise cuts allow patterns to emerge through shadow and relief, giving the rugs a sense of movement and a distinctly tactile presence. The surface changes with light and angle, offering a sensory experience that goes beyond surface decoration.
While Bamboo Design focuses on scenic narratives and textured compositions, Bamboo Shaded moves towards a quieter, more minimal language. The monochromatic rugs rely on the natural sheen of bamboo to create soft tonal shifts, where light subtly transforms the surface throughout the day. The effect is understated yet dynamic, making the rugs adaptable across both residential and contract spaces.

The Bamboo Shaded palette includes eight refined colours: Greige (Grey), Beige, Ghiaccio (Ice), Pietra (Stone), Nero (Black), Mattone (Brick Red), Senape (Mustard), and Alga (Light Green). The rugs are available in standard sizes of 200x300 cm and 300x400 cm, as well as custom dimensions and 400 cm rolls, allowing flexibility across different spatial requirements.
Beyond aesthetics, the natural properties of bamboo and cotton make both collections highly functional. The fibres are resistant to dust and mites, do not pill, and are compatible with underfloor heating. The material remains soft to the touch while maintaining structural resilience, making the rugs suitable for everyday use without compromising on comfort or longevity.
Rooted in craftsmanship and refined through contemporary design, the Bamboo Design and Bamboo Shaded collections reflect Carpet Edition’s ongoing approach to material-led design where texture, memory, and functionality quietly shape the space.
