For years, sharper outdoor security footage came with a price premium that most homeowners quietly accepted as the cost of clarity. Ring has now changed that calculation. The brand has just announced two new outdoor cameras, the Spotlight Cam Second Generation and the Floodlight Cam Second Generation, both carrying its Retinal 2K video technology at price points that make the upgrade genuinely accessible for the first time.
Until now, Retinal 2K was reserved for Ring's higher-end models. This launch makes Retinal 2K the standard for the outdoor lineup, offering sharper faces, clearer movement, and better detail in all lighting conditions without a hefty price tag.

The Spotlight Cam, second generation, is the more compact of the two, designed for homeowners who want solid outdoor security without a large footprint. It introduces Ring's new dual-chamber battery design for more flexible power management, supports the Quick Release Ultra Battery Pack for easier swaps, and comes with a built-in 550-lumen spotlight for nighttime deterrence. It starts at £149.99.
The Floodlight Cam Second Generation is built for larger outdoor areas, driveways, garages, and open facades, where wider coverage matters as much as camera quality. It pairs the Retinal 2K video with 2000-lumen floodlights that illuminate considerably more ground than a standard spotlight camera could manage. It starts at £179.99.
Both are available to pre-order now in the UK ahead of a full release on 3rd June 2026, with a wider rollout across Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to follow.
