Late afternoon light falls across the Liberty façades of Cremona, catching the pale stucco of Via Manzoni and slipping quietly through restored windows. Inside, the 10 Manzoni Aparthotel opens like a secret, with eight residences that read less like rooms and more like compositions. The house, reborn from early-twentieth-century architecture, carries its age gently: ornate cornices, terrazzo floors, and the shadow of craftsmanship that once defined the city. Every detail has been redrawn, not replaced.

The project by ARKPABI Architecture Studio, led by Michele Bianchi, restores the building’s structural elegance while reimagining its interiors as a new model of urban hospitality. Each apartment stands apart in tone and temperament, shaped by bespoke furniture, period accents, and a palette that feels both historic and precise. Independence and intimacy coexist here, the quiet of a private home balanced by the discretion of a five-star stay.

It is on these walls that WallPepper® becomes the essential voice of the project. The wallcoverings are not decoration; they are architecture. Colours, geometries, and scale were adjusted to suit each space, creating moods that shift from soft shadow to luminous contrast. Some rooms are layered with mineral textures; others reveal botanical fragments rendered in contemporary rhythm. The wallpapers do what excellent design should: define emotion without intruding on function.

“The aim was to give each residence a distinct identity while maintaining overall harmony,” notes Bianchi. “WallPepper® allowed us to fine-tune colour and proportion with absolute control. It gave us the freedom to compose.”

Performance sits beneath the beauty. WallPepper® coverings combine aesthetic flexibility with technical rigor, are resistant to wear, are adaptable across surfaces, and are available in a range of supports ideal for hospitality interiors. Hundreds of catalogue designs can be recoloured, rescaled, or fully customised, ensuring that each project reflects place and personality rather than brand repetition.

In Cremona, this flexibility became language. The wallpapers link restored heritage to modern craft, turning flat surfaces into narrative planes. The result is a sequence of spaces that feel like handmade rooms that breathe with light, echo the rhythm of the city outside, and remind us that the wall itself can carry atmosphere.
