Ducati was founded in Bologna in 1926, and the centenary has produced the kind of releases one would expect from a marque of its standing. The Barista M3 1926 Limited Edition Carbon Fiber, developed in collaboration with Swiss manufacturer Cuisine Barista, is a different kind of object: a capsule espresso machine built with the same material logic as a racing motorcycle.
The front and rear panels are carbon fiber, three precision-laid layers of 1.5mm twill-weave construction, the same diagonal pattern found on Ducati's track bikes. The rest of the body is stainless steel with a PVD coating. A red Ducati badge sits at the front, and a backlit red plate on the rear references the tail section of a Panigale. The machine is available in three colors: Ducati White, Red, and Black.
The Barista M3 is compatible with Nespresso Original pods and can brew at a pressure of up to 19 bar. It heats in seven seconds, carries 12 preset drink recipes, and allows brewing temperature and flavor profile to be adjusted via a PID controller. The milk frothing system is integrated: milk sits in a steel cup placed in the cupholder, where it is heated by induction and frothed to the selected temperature for both hot and cold foam. A companion app manages descaling and usage data.
Production is limited to 1,926 units, referencing Ducati's founding year. The first delivery batch, scheduled for September 2026, is sold out. A second batch is expected in October. The Barista M3 1926 Limited Edition Carbon Fiber by Ducati is priced at CHF 1,599.
