Suspended forty-one floors above Mumbai’s restless skyline, A Still Summit unfolds as a composed counterpoint to the city below. Designed by Studio Tattva, led by Aditi Savani, this expansive duplex spanning close to 8,000 square feet is conceived as a home that balances clarity, comfort, and quiet luxury. It belongs to an entrepreneurial couple and their two children, and brings together neoclassical structure, subtle Art Deco references, advanced technology, and a strong emphasis on wellness.

The arrival itself is carefully considered. The main entry was pivoted to face true north, aligning with Vastu Shastra, creating an auspicious threshold. Visitors are greeted by a floor-to-ceiling stone mural inspired by mandala geometry, setting a contemplative tone right at the doorstep. The foyer, nearly eight feet wide, is wrapped in full-height wall panels and anchored by an abstract artwork featuring goldfish, a symbolic gesture toward prosperity. Overhead, a custom glass chandelier with gilded, fin-like edges casts a gentle glow, echoing the motif without overt repetition.

A linear corridor unfolds from the entry, flanked by a functional kitchen on one side and a personalised home office on the other. At its far end sits a contemporary guest bedroom, softened by filleted corners and gentle curves that introduce a restrained Art Deco character. The transition from this passage into the formal living and dining area feels deliberate and dramatic.

Here, the palette opens up into luminous whites and taupes, sharpened by black accents and subtle touches of gold. Versace sofas with a visible black exoskeleton, paired with nested centre tables and dining chairs, reference Mumbai’s Art Deco lineage without becoming literal. Brass detailing is used sparingly but consistently across door trims, furniture edges, the elevator frame, and chandeliers, lending warmth and continuity. In the dining area, a rose-gold mirrored wall conceals the powder room, its arched patterning adding depth and reflection without visual clutter.

At the heart of the home stands a striking spiral staircase wrapped around a semi-capsule lift. Crafted in metal with glass and marble finishes, it reads as both sculptural and seamless. Ombré glass railings, marble treads, and a brushed brass handrail sweep upward in a fluid motion. Alongside it, a double-height wall clad in undulating panels evokes the movement of the Arabian Sea, grounding the vertical drama in a coastal reference. The staircase leads to the informal living area above, where warm beiges, taupes, curved ceilings, and layered lighting create a sense of calm against the expansive city views. A strategically placed perspective artwork adds visual depth without overwhelming the space.

The private quarters are designed as individual sanctuaries. Each bedroom features walk-in wardrobes, panoramic views, and automated sensor-based systems controlling temperature and curtains. The son’s room integrates a custom display wall for his toy gun collection alongside a climbing wall that encourages play. The daughter’s room reflects her transition into young adulthood, expressed through soft lilac tones, with a dedicated study and dresser.

The master suite crowns the duplex with understated luxury. A palette of browns, beiges, and champagne gold defines the space, complemented by bespoke detailing and uninterrupted views. Dual walk-in wardrobes for him and her function as personalised retreats, finished in real leather and equipped with features such as an electrically controlled watch winder, dehumidifier, and ozoniser. The adjoining bathroom, clad in Greek White Thassos marble, opens to a bathtub overlooking the sea, described by the designer as “a falcon’s nest in the clouds.” The space balances indulgence with responsibility, integrating smart WCs, water-efficient fittings, passive ventilation, and a water recovery system for the jacuzzi. This bathroom was recently awarded the GROHE Bath & Design Award 2025 in collaboration with Architectural Digest India.

Beyond its private spaces, the home extends into zones dedicated to wellness and leisure. These include a yoga room, a full-size sauna, a massage room, a ballet room for the daughter, and a 30-seater home theatre equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins sound system. A fully controlled centralised HVAC system and a separate air filtration system serve the entire residence, reinforcing the home’s focus on comfort and health.

High above Mumbai, A Still Summit mirrors the city’s layered character. Art Deco influences echo its architectural heritage, while fluid forms and expansive views anchor it in its coastal context. It is a residence that feels deeply rooted yet aspirational, composed yet dynamic, much like the city it overlooks.
