A Restaurant Designed as an Immersive Experience at Thanks & Beyond, New Delhi

Located within Epicuria, Nehru Place, one of Delhi’s most active food and entertainment destinations, Thanks & Beyond is the latest restaurant venture by restaurateur Priyank Sukhija. Spread across 8,000 square feet, the restaurant is conceived not as a singular dining space, but as a layered environment where architecture, interiors, and hospitality work together to shape the overall experience.


Designed by Natelier by Bent Chair, led by Natasha Jain and Neeraj Jain, the project moves away from the conventional idea of themed dining. Instead, it unfolds as three distinct yet interconnected zones, each with its atmosphere, while remaining visually and spatially cohesive.



The design is structured around three clearly defined sections, each responding to a different mood and time of day, allowing guests to choose how they engage with the space.


The first zone, Thanks, functions as the most grounded and formal part of the restaurant. Rich wood finishes, leather seating, and softly contoured architectural lines give the space a sense of refinement without stiffness. Earthy tones dominate, creating warmth and visual comfort, while subtle bohemian influences prevent the interiors from feeling overly rigid. This section is designed for relaxed dining, where guests are encouraged to linger, converse, and settle into the rhythm of the space.



Moving outward, the restaurant opens into &, a semi-outdoor zone conceived as a calm escape from the city. Surrounded by greenery, this area adopts a lighter palette of whites and greys, complemented by plush loungers and soft, ambient lighting. The design deliberately blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor dining, offering a quieter, slower environment within the otherwise busy Epicuria complex. It is a space intended for unwinding, particularly during the evening, where the experience is shaped as much by atmosphere as by food.


The third and final zone, Beyond, marks a clear shift in tone. Designed as a more immersive and visually dramatic environment, it centres around a striking quartz bar that anchors the space. Hand-sculpted wall surfaces interact with carefully controlled lighting, creating layers of shadow and depth. Cave-like rock formations introduce a sense of enclosure, while the lighting design enhances the sculptural quality of the interiors. This section is geared towards late-night dining and cocktails, offering a more experimental and energetic setting without tipping into excess.



Despite the distinct identities of each zone, a consistent design language runs throughout the restaurant. Soft curves, circular architectural gestures, and organic forms are repeated across spaces, ensuring visual continuity. Minimalism is approached thoughtfully, not as austerity, but as a framework that allows materials and form to take precedence.


Furniture plays a key role in reinforcing this balance. Each piece is crafted by skilled artisans, reflecting a blend of modern minimalism and timeless detailing. Rather than acting as decorative highlights, the furniture integrates seamlessly into the architectural layout, supporting both comfort and function.



Lighting is used with restraint, shifting subtly across zones to reflect changes in mood and purpose. From the warmer, more subdued lighting in Thanks, to the open, diffused glow of &, and finally the dramatic contrasts in Beyond, illumination becomes an essential tool in defining how each space is experienced.


At its core, Thanks & Beyond is shaped by an understanding of hospitality rather than spectacle. With over two decades of experience, Priyank Sukhija’s approach to dining extends beyond food, focusing on how people move through, occupy, and remember a space. Natelier translates this philosophy into architecture and interiors that prioritise flow, comfort, and longevity.



The result is a restaurant that does not rely on a single visual moment, but instead offers an experience that evolves over time. Guests can move between spaces, moods, and energies over the course of an evening, allowing the architecture to respond naturally to different forms of social interaction.


Thanks & Beyond stands as an example of how contemporary restaurant design is shifting towards multi-layered environments, where atmosphere, materiality, and spatial planning are as integral to the dining experience as the menu itself.
