Abyssal Spring Summer Couture 2026 by RGRK Examines Structure, Surface, and Light Through Ocean-Inspired Form

Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna’s Spring Summer Couture 2026 collection, titled Abyssal, develops its visual and structural language through references to deep-sea environments. The collection continues the designers’ long-standing interest in architectural construction, material layering, and controlled ornamentation within couture.

The garments are built around structured silhouettes that prioritise form before surface detail. Tailoring, internal reinforcement, and pattern construction establish the foundation of each piece. Surface elements such as pearls, crystals, and metallic embroidery are integrated into this framework rather than applied independently.

The collection uses hand-embroidered materials including pearls, diamantes, and faceted crystal components. These elements are distributed across garments to create controlled reflection across the surface. Their placement follows the lines of construction, reinforcing the underlying silhouette.

Textiles include sheer and semi-transparent fabrics layered to create depth. These layers partially reveal and conceal internal structure depending on viewing angle and lighting conditions. Transparency is used as a material property rather than as decorative contrast.

The colour palette is restricted and transitions gradually between tones. Blues, greys, white, and charcoal appear in variations across the collection. These tonal shifts are applied in gradient sequences across garments, producing gradual transitions rather than abrupt contrast.

Both menswear and womenswear are included. The construction principles remain consistent across categories, with structured jackets, sculpted gowns, and tailored separates forming the core of the collection.

Garment volumes are controlled and shaped to maintain defined outlines. Silhouettes follow the body closely in some pieces and extend outward in others, but all maintain visible structural definition.

The designers have continued their practice of combining couture embroidery with architectural tailoring methods. Structural seams, panel divisions, and internal shaping remain visible in the final form of the garment.

The collection was photographed using a lightbox setup. This method produces even illumination from behind and beneath the garments, allowing layered materials and surface details to remain visible without directional shadow distortion.

The presentation method aligns with the collection’s focus on light interaction with material surfaces.

The collection is positioned within ceremonial and formalwear categories. Garments are intended for occasions including receptions, formal gatherings, and wedding-related events.

Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna have developed their couture practice over more than two decades, focusing on structured formalwear for both men and women. The Abyssal collection continues this direction by maintaining emphasis on controlled construction, tonal restraint, and integrated surface work.

The collection does not introduce a separate design direction but extends the existing structural approach that defines the label’s couture output.
