Häfele Horizon Digital Lock: What the Evolve Range Brings to the Front Door

Häfele has introduced the Horizon Digital Lock as part of its Evolve Range of Digital Door Locks, a line the German hardware brand has developed for contemporary residential spaces where the entrance door is expected to carry both security and design considerations without one coming at the expense of the other.
The Horizon operates across multiple locking modes, including auto locking, passage locking, privacy locking, and double authentication mode, giving the homeowner the ability to adjust how the lock behaves depending on the situation and the level of access or restriction required at any given time. The lock supports fingerprint, RFID card, and password entry for admin access and allows for the creation of multiple user and guest profiles, so different levels of access can be assigned to family members, visitors, or household staff without changing the primary security settings.
Password access on the Horizon comes in three formats: permanent passwords for regular users, dynamic passwords that change with each use, and period passwords that are valid only within a set timeframe. The Period Password option is particularly relevant for homes where temporary access needs to be granted and then automatically expire, removing the need to manually revoke entry after the fact.
On the monitoring side, the lock includes a digital door viewer that allows the homeowner to see who is at the entrance before the door is opened, panel lighting that indicates the current lock status, and a loitering detection function that sends an alert if someone remains near the entrance for longer than expected. Video doorbell functionality, intrusion alarms, door-open alerts, and automatic mortise locking are also part of the feature set. The lock runs on a Li-ion battery system.
Smart Password, Smart Voice, and Smart Freeze are among the additional features. Häfele includes in the Horizon, alongside what the brand describes as a combination of advanced security protocols and refined aesthetics suited to modern living spaces. The Horizon Digital Lock is available as part of Häfele's Evolve Range.
